How can you have new life?
Are you a survivor? Stranded in the African Savannah or on a deserted island, 16 survivors face the challenge of a life-time…on
a television "reality" show. Confronted with the dry, African bush, crocodile-infested rivers and, of course, each other -
contestants and audience alike watch and wonder which one will survive?
If you think about it, living in a hut and eating insects on a TV show is not reality - at least not compared to the very
real challenges we face everyday. Challenges like drug abuse, peer pressure, unwanted pregnancies, poverty, and crime. Not
to mention dangerous drivers on our highways, lethal chemicals in our environment, and intolerance and fear in our hearts. So
how do we survive our own ordeals? How do we find life in the midst of all that is trying to steal life from us? Is there
a way to live above our problems? And even more importantly, is there (a better) life after this one is complete? The Bible,
God's inspired book of wisdom and truth, is the true survival guide to life's most critical challenges…such as:
HATE He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
(I John 4:8)
CONFUSION For God is not
the author of confusion; but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. (I Corinthians 14:33) These things that I have
spoken unto you, that in Me ye might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome
the world.(John 16:33)
CRIME Let him that
stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to
him that needeth. Eph. 4:28
LONELINESS All
that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.. (John 6:37) Teaching them
to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. (Matthew
28:20)
DEATH For God so loved the world, that
He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
In
real life, instead of just one person claiming the prize, everyone (who wants to) can win. But in this case the prize is much
more valuable than mere survival. It is a victorious life here on earth and an eternal life in heaven with God. Winning
this prize does not depend on your skills, possessions, popularity or what anyone else thinks of you. It depends on what you
believe about Jesus Christ
Good news for you:
TO BE A TRUE SURVIVOR…it's as easy as A B C:
Admit to yourself and to God that you are a sinner. You have messed up. You have blown it. You have done
things that go against the laws of God. You are not alone. The Bible says that we have all sinned. For all have sinned and
come short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23
Believe that because of God's love,
God made a way for you to get forgiveness from your sins. That way is Jesus. Jesus died on the cross to pay for your sins.
But He didn't stay dead. Three days later, He rose from the grave! But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we
were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through
him. Romans 5:8,9
Commit your life to Jesus. Trust
Him and Him alone as your personal Savior. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins and to come into your life. He will forgive
you of your past and give you a brand new start! He will make everything new! Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new
creature; old things are pased away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17
If you would like to begin
a new life with Jesus, you can start it right now. Pray to God right now asking him to forgive you and give you a new life.
If you need some help knowing what to say, here's a prayer that you could pray:
Dear God, I know that I'm not perfect and my sins keep me from you. I need your forgiveness today. I want to live in heaven
with you for all eternity. Forgive me please. Change my life. Thank you for sending your Son to die on the cross to forgive
my sins. Thank you that He rose again. Thank you for giving me new life. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
If you just prayed
that prayer and meant it from your heart, then you now have new life! You're more than a survivor. You're a child of God.
